Arrogate Half-Sister Takes Them All the Way in Dueling Grounds Oaks

Osare | Kentucky Downs

Osare (Medaglia d'Oro), a half-sister to champion and all-time leading North American money earner Arrogate, showed speed from her inside draw and finished full of run to capture the Dueling Grounds Oaks Wednesday at Kentucky Downs.

Debuting with a late-running fourth on the Tampa turf Apr. 15, the dark bay moved forward with the addition of blinkers to break her maiden going 10 furlongs June 21 at Belmont. Second behind returning GIII Glens Falls S. heroine Lady Montdore (Medaglia d'Oro) before being disqualified to sixth Aug. 6 at Saratoga, Osare was made the narrow third choice in this rescheduled spot and broke alertly. Cutting the corner into the first turn as several rivals went wide, she led narrowly through splits of :25.36, :51.20 and 1:16.45 and was still under confident handling by Jose Ortiz while his foes were pumping and driving approaching the lane. Cut loose at the head of the lane, Osare skipped clear past midstretch and never gave any closers a serious chance, coming home in the clear from Princess Warrior.

Bubbler, who RNA'd for $4.7 million at the 2016 Fasig-Tipton November Sale, is responsible for a juvenile filly by Giant's Causeway, a yearling Into Mischief filly and a weanling filly by Tapit. She was bred to Curlin this spring.
