A total of 1,582 horses have been catalogued for Keeneland's January Horses of All Ages Sale, which will take place Jan. 8-11, 2018 in Lexington. The catalogue includes 677 broodmares or broodmare prospects, 628 short yearlings, 268 horses of racing age and 13 stallions or racing/stallion prospects. “Results of Keeneland's September Yearling Sale and November Breeding Stock Sale indicate a strong market for quality Thoroughbreds that is expected to continue at the January Sale,” said Bob Elliston, Keeneland's Vice President of Racing and Sales. “The November Sale market was so competitive that many buyers were not able to fill their orders. The January Sale provides an opportunity to purchase exceptional individuals, particularly broodmares, short yearlings and horses of racing age.” The online catalogue can now be viewed at keeneland.com, while print catalogues will be mailed the week of Dec. 18. The January sale received a strong endorsement on Saturday when 2016 graduate Catholic Boy (More Than Ready) dominated the GII Remsen S. in his dirt debut, while highest-level winners Mind Your Biscuits (Posse) and Practical Joke (Into Mischief) ran second and third, respectively, in the GI Cigar Mile.
