The under-tack show ahead of next week's Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale gets underway Tuesday morning at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium. The show continues through Thursday with sessions beginning each day at 8 a.m. A total of 636 juveniles have been catalogued for the Midlantic sale, which will be held next Monday and Tuesday. MHBA Announces New Incentives, Awards for Steeplechase Horses

The Maryland Horse Breeders Association (MHBA) Board of Directors recently voted unanimously to begin an award program for Breeder, Owner and Stallion bonuses for registered Maryland-breds at sanctioned steeplechase race meets in Maryland. Beginning in 2022, registered Maryland-bred horses that run first, second or third will receive 30% on purses earned at National Steeplechase Association-sanctioned meets in Maryland. Fasig-Tipton has catalogued 232 entries for the main catalogue of the Midlantic December Mixed Sale, to be held on Tuesday, Dec. 7 at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Maryland. The sale will begin at 11 a.m. The main catalogue consists of broodmares, broodmare prospects, weanlings, and yearlings. Running from Aug. 27 through Sept. 6, this year's seven days of racing held during the Maryland State Fair at Timonium will offer purses of over $287,000 daily, the Maryland State Fair and Agricultural Society announced Tuesday. Massive Laurel Horse Move-Out Preakness Week

Difficulties with the dirt track base repair and cushion resurfacing project at Laurel Park continue to mount, with the loose-ended timetable for the work now expected to extend at least until the start of July.
