Dr. Kenny Katz has been elected the new President of Jockeys and Jeans, according to an organization release Thursday. The appointment was made following the retirement of interim President and founding member, Dr. Eddie Donnally, Interim Jockeys and Jeans President and a founding member. Katz, a long-time committee member, has been a podiatrist on Long Island for 38 years, and holds a marketing and statistics degree from Adelphi University. The Kentucky Horse Council, a charity that works to support Kentucky's equine community through education, leadership and equine rescue and welfare initiatives, has elected new directors and officers to the Board of Directors, including Jen Roytz, co-owner of Brownstead Farm and co-founder of Topline Communications who was elected to serve as President. Tattersalls has appointed Shirley Anderson-Jolag to the role of sales manager of Tattersalls Jockey Club Sales and Katherine Sheridan to the role of sales manager of Tattersalls Online, it was announced on Friday. Anderson-Jolag joined Tattersalls in 2015 and is said to have played a key role in developing and promoting Tattersalls sales at Cheltenham, while Sheridan first joined the company in 2022 as online sales executive. Hugh Drexler has been appointed to the position of Director of Racing while Candy Wetzel will serve as Assistant Director of Racing at Mahoning Valley, the track announced Tuesday. Drexler will begin his duties Sept. 2, pending normal regulatory approvals. Drexler formerly served as the Racing Secretary at Thistledown in 2020/2021. Sara Ben-David has been appointed as the Acting Executive Director of the New Jersey Racing Commission (NJRC), Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin announced in a press release Thursday. The NJRC ensures the safety and integrity of the horse racing industry in New Jersey. Tom Sammes has been appointed as the new General Manager of Epsom Downs Racecourse while James Crespi returns as the new Racecourse Director of Goodwood Racecourse after eight years away from the Goodwood Estate. The Jockey Club has appointed Molly Dingwall as the new General Manager of Haydock Park Racecourse. Over four years as the GM of Carlisle since May 2018, Dingwall played a pivotal role in strengthening ties with the local community and promoting its broad range of racedays, including the unique Ladies Night fixture each August. Lauren Morgan has joined Buckland Sales Agency as Director of Bloodstock. In her new role, she will handle client relations, horse evaluations and other bloodstock services for the consignment agency.
