Profitable Retired To Kildangan

Profitable | Darley

Godolphin's G1 King's Stand S. winner Profitable (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}-Dani Ridge {Ire}, by Indian Ridge {GB}) has been retired from racing and will enter stud next year at Darley's Kildangan Stud in Ireland at a fee of €12,000.

Profitable, the highest-rated sprinting son of Invincible Spirit, earned his first black-type victory at three in York's Listed Westow S., but blossomed at four with three straight group wins over five furlongs, culminating in the King's Stand. He has remained at a high level of form this year, finishing second in his first three runs of the season, including behind the brilliant Lady Aurelia (Scat Daddy) in the King's Stand and the subsequent eye-catching G1 Prix de l'Abbaye winner Battaash (Ire) (Dark Angel {Ire}) in the G2 King George S. Profitable bows out after finishing third behind Battaash and the G1 Nunthorpe S. winner Marsha (Ire) (Acclamation {GB}) in the Foret.

Trainer Clive Cox said, “Profitable has a wonderful temperament and has been an absolute delight to train. He has been a top-class five-furlong horse throughout, performing at the highest level and saved his best performances for Royal Ascot. I will certainly be looking out for his progeny at the sales.”

Joe Osborne, Godolphin's chief executive, said, “Profitable is an especially well-made horse, powerful and strikingly handsome. We are big fans of his sire line, and Cape Cross, who was bred on a similar cross, was a great success here. We are very much looking forward to showing him off to breeders.”
