Plans Fluid For Twilight Son

Henry Candy | Racing Post

Trainer Henry Candy is keeping an open mind with regard to future plans for his current star sprinter Twilight Son (GB) (Kyllachy {GB}). The 3-year-old is now unbeaten in five starts following his narrow victory in last Saturday's G1 Haydock Sprint Cup. That was the colt's first run in a stakes race and Candy, who has a marvelous record with sprinters, is obviously delighted with what the horse has achieved in a short career so far. “He's very well. He's pretty tough now and has grown up at last,” said the trainer. “It was a wonderful result. Whether he runs again [this season] is entirely up to him. We'll see how he is in his coat and in himself.” Candy is also very much looking forward to 2016 with the horse who won a handicap race in Thirsk this time last year when rated 77. “He's got all of next year, but it was wonderful to get the job done,” added Candy who trains just outside Lambourn. The G1 British Champion Sprint at Ascot in October is a possibility for Twilight Son and Candy may also have the smart Limato (Ire) (Tagula {Ire}) in mind for the same race.
