Live Oak Plantations' World Approval (Northern Afleet), named champion turf horse during last week's Eclipse ceremony at Gulfstream Park, is on target to make his 2018 debut in the GIII Tampa Bay S. The gray, off since winning the Nov. 4

GI Breeders' Cup Mile, worked five furlongs in 1:00.60 over the turf at Palm Meadows Saturday.

“After the Breeders' Cup, we sent him home to [Charlotte Weber's] Live Oak [in Ocala], which we do every year, and got him back the last week of December,” trainer Mark Casse said. “He looks good and is ready to go, and we're hoping for another big year. This is just the beginning. Johnny [Velazquez] will be coming to Tampa to ride him.”

After the Tampa Bay, World Approval could ship to Dubai for the Mar. 31 G1 Dubai Turf.
