A colt from the second crop of champion of Uncle Mo was hammered down to trainer Bob Baffert as agent for $700,000 to take over at the top of the leaderboard as the opening session of Book 2 of the Keeneland September Sale continued Friday afternoon in Lexington. Catalogued as hip 942 and consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency as agent, the bay is the first produce from the multiple stakes-placed Kiss the Lady (Quiet American), who was purchased by Town & Country Farms carrying this colt in utero for $340,000 at the 2013 Keeneland November sale. The Mar. 11 foal hails from a strong Ned Evans family which includes graded winners Blofeld (Quality Road), Mini Sermon (Pulpit) and A Little Warm (Stormin Fever). Uncle Mo is off to an outstanding start at stud with nine individual winners, including Grade I winner Nyquist, Grade III victor Uncle Vinny and recent SW Uncle Brennie.
