Uncle Lino (Uncle Mo–Haysee, by Orientate), a stakes winner and third to Exaggerator (Curlin) in last year's GI Santa Anita Derby, will become the first of his sire's progeny to enter stud in the state of Pennsylvania when he debuts for the 2017 breeding season at Northview PA.

“Northview has been looking extremely hard for a son of Uncle Mo,” said Northview President and CEO Richard Golden. “Uncle Lino has checked all of our boxes. We are very excited to be able to offer Uncle Lino to our breeders for 2017.”

Bred in Kentucky by JPR Stable LLC, Uncle Lino graduated at second asking and finished runner-up to Mor Spirit (Eskendereya) in his first start around two turns in the GIII Robert B. Lewis S. After rounding out the trifecta in the Santa Anita Derby, the bay colt led throughout to win the California Chrome S. at Los Alamitos. Raced by Tom Mansor, Purple Shamrock Racing and trainer Gary Sherlock, Uncle Lino retires with two wins and four minor placings from eight starts and earnings of $316,160.

Uncle Lino's unraced dam is a full-sister to GISW Lady Joanne and a half to Classic winner and young sire Shackleford (Forestry), MGSWs Baghdaria (Royal Academy) and Afleeting Lady (Afleet Alex) and SW & GSOP Stephanoatsee (A.P. Indy).
