Texas Champions Honored With Video

The Texas Thoroughbred Association (TTA) has released a video honoring its 2020 Texas Champion racehorses as well as its human award winners. Under normal circumstances, an in-person awards ceremony would be held, but the continuing COVID-19 pandemic forced officials to cancel those plans. Redatory Named Texas Horse of the Year

On the strength of three victories in state-bred stakes company, Redatory (Oratory) has been named Texas Horse of the Year for 2020. The 6-year-old gelding was nearly unstoppable against Texas-breds last term, winning the Houston Turf S. at Sam Houston and the Richard King Turf S. and Texas Hall of Fame S. at Lone Star Park, successfully defending his title in the last two named races. Texas Champions to be Honored

The 2019 Texas Champion horses and horsemen, which normally would have been honored during the Texas Thoroughbred Association's annual meeting and awards banquet, will instead be showcased online with a video presentation highlighting their achievements. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the TTA's annual event in March was postponed.
