TCA Awarded More Than $821,000 in Grants in 2023

Thoroughbred Charities of America (TCA) in 2023 awarded grants totaling more than $821,000, the organization announced on Tuesday. A total of 75 organizations were approved for grants, which included 45 aftercare organizations, 20 backstretch and farm worker programs, six equine-assisted therapy organizations, three Thoroughbred incentive programs, and one research organization. More Than $125k for Aftercare Raised by Inaugural 'Race to Give'

The first annual "Race to Give" campaign, begun in September by Hagyard Equine Medical Institute and Thoroughbred Charities of America (TCA) as an online giving and awareness program to support Thoroughbred aftercare, wrapped Friday with over $125,000 raised. Race to Give Launches 'Run-A-MUCK Challenge'

Breeders' Cup Box Auction to Honor Richardson

Thoroughbred Charities of America is auctioning off a 2021 Breeders' Cup Stretch Run box at Del Mar to benefit the Race to Give campaign. The box was donated to honor the memory of Dr. J. David Richardson, who passed away in September. The six-person box, 4G, is on Del Mar's third level, and was donated by Richardson's friend, Dr. James B. Threlkel.
