Spendthrift Farm's MGISW Lord Nelson (Pulpit--African Jade by Seeking the Gold) was euthanized Thursday after a long battle with laminitis. He was 9-years-old. Grade I winner Mr Speaker (Pulpit--Salute, by Unbridled) has been purchased by Lori and Mark Collinsworth and will be relocating to their Forks of the Paluxy Farm in Bluff Dale, Texas for the 2022 Breeding Season. Pulpit Half-Brother to California's Daehling Ranch

Pontiff (Giant's Causeway--Preach, by Mr. Prospector) has been relocated from Washington to Daehling Ranch in Northern California. Pontiff was bred in Kentucky by Claiborne Farm and ran in Orb's GI Florida Derby in 2013 as a maiden in just his third lifetime start. Pontiff campaigned for five years, retiring after his 2017 season with a record of 35-3-10-7 and earnings of $126,481. His wins came on both the turf and the dirt. Preach Dies

Claiborne Farm's broodmare Preach (Mr. Prospector--Narrate, by Honest Pleasure), the dam of Pulpit (A.P. Indy), has passed away, according to a tweet from the farm. The 31-year-old mare won the 1991 GI Frizette S. and was third in the 1991 GI Spinaway S. and 1992 GI Test S. Preach's first foal was Pulpit, who won the 1997 GII Toyota Blue Grass S. and GII Fountain of Youth S. Pulpit retired to Claiborne for the 1998 breeding season and his first crop included G2 U.A.E.
