Newbury Prize-Money Upped to Record £7m

Following last week's announcement of record prize-money across the Jockey Club's portfolio of racecourses, Newbury has followed suit by increasing its prize-money for 2024 to £7 million, which is also a record figure. Shaun Hinds Appointed New CEO Of Newbury

Shaun Hinds has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of Newbury Racecourse, succeeding Julian Thick who announced his resignation in August, the racecourse announced on Wednesday. Thick served in the role for 10 years. Hinds will begin his tenure as CEO and join the company's board in the summer of 2024 once he has served out his notice period with his current employer, Manchester Central Convention Centre. A final catalogue of 21 select, high-end pointers will be offered Saturday, Dec. 2 after racing concludes at Newbury racecourse through the Coral Gold Cup Sale by Goffs. Located in the winners' enclosure following the meeting, inspections will commence Friday, Dec. 1 immediately opposite the racecourse stables.
