From a racing standpoint, there could not have been a more appropriate way for Calder to go out. There when the track ran its first ever race in 1971, trainer Eddie Plesa, Jr. won the last race run at the track that had been rebranded as Gulfstream Park West. Gulfstream Park West Turf Stakes Rescheduled

Continuing wet weather conditions in South Florida have led Gulfstream Park West officials to postpone four Florida-bred turf stakes scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14 to Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 21 and 22. The $60,000 Millions Turf Preview for 3-year-olds and up at 1 1/16 miles and the $60,000 Juvenile Fillies Turf at one mile have both been moved to the Nov. 21 program. Gulfstream West Cancels Sunday Card

Gulfstream Park West canceled its live racing card Sunday due to the impending arrival of Tropical Storm Eta. Entries will be taken Sunday for Friday's program and live racing returns to the Miami Springs track Wednesday.
