Maryland Stallion Season Auction to be Held Jan. 2-6

The Maryland Horse Foundation will host the annual online stallion season auction from Jan. 2-6. This year's auction will feature no-guarantee seasons for 17 Maryland-based stallions: Divining Rod, Friesan Fire, Mosler, Bourbon Courage, Holy Boss, Long River, Fortune Ticket, Alliance, Kobe's Back, Hoppertunity, Galawi (Ire), Irish War Cry, Madefromlucky, Uncle Lino, Blofeld, Rainbow Heir and Barbados. After a successful first online auction, Wanamaker's has released its second catalogue, headed by the entry of Fiya (Friesan Fire), a 3-year-old gelding who is two-for-two on the year and posted a 98 Beyer Speed Figure and a 9 on the Ragozin Sheets in winning a Laurel allowance July 17. Fiya's 98 Beyer is the second fastest by a 3-year-old on the turf this year.
