Woodbine Cancels Due To Heat

Due to extreme high temperatures forecast for the greater Toronto metropolitan area, the live racing program scheduled for Monday at Woodbine has been cancelled. The decision was made in consultation with the local HBPA and the commissioned veterinarian. According to a release, the track will endeavor to make up for the lost races over the next few live racing days. Live racing is scheduled to return on Thursday, September 7, with first post scheduled for 4:50 p.m. ET.

Horseshoe Indianapolis Adjusts Post Times, Race Days Due to Extreme Heat

Horseshoe Indianapolis has moved up its first post Wednesday to 10 a.m. and has moved its entire Thursday card to next Monday due to excessive heat warnings for Central Indiana this week. A forecast for extreme heat caused the cancellation of live racing at Woodbine Thursday and Friday, as well as at Laurel Park Friday, while Ellis Park will move its Friday and Saturday programs. Indiana Grand Moves First Post to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Thursday Due to Extreme Heat

Due to forecasted extreme heat Wednesday, Aug. 25 and Thursday, Aug. 26, Indiana Grand has changed post times for each of those days. Colonial Downs Postpones Opening Day Card Due to Extreme Heat

Colonial Downs has postponed Monday's opening card due to forecasted dangerous heat conditions with heat index forecasts over 100 degrees. Monday's races will be re-carded for Sunday, Aug. 2 and horsemen will need to re-enter Tuesday, July 28. Colonial Downs's revised opening day features a nine-race card planned for Tuesday, July 28 with a post time of 5:30 p.m. ET.
