GISW Idol's First Foal is a Colt

The first reported foal for Taylor Made's Idol (Curlin) is a New York-bred colt, according to the farm. Born on Wednesday, Jan. 3, the colt is out of Meteoric Matron (Mineshaft), a full-sister to MSW & GSP Mine Over Matter, and was bred by Bill Johnson's Stonegate Stables. Grade II winner Modernist (Uncle Mo) was represented by his first foal on Sunday, Jan. 15, when the Mineshaft mare Meteoric Matron produced a colt, Darby Dan Farm tweeted. Turning Point Bloodstock Makes Debut in Saratoga

   A new consignment is making its debut this week at the Fasig-Tipton New York-Bred Sale. Turning Point Bloodstock, founded by New York horsemen Bill Johnson, has 12 yearlings prepared to go through the ring on Aug. 15 and 16. Johnson has owned and operated Stonegate Stables, located about 15 miles from Saratoga Springs in Fort Edward, since 2007.
