Cannock Chase (Lemon Drop Kid–Lynnwood Chase, by Horse Chestnut {SAf}), a Grade 1 winner for Sir Michael Stoute and owner Saeed Suhail, will stand at Nunstainton Stud in Yorkshire for 2017. The 5-year-old, also a Royal Ascot winner in 2014, had his finest hour when winning the GI Pattison Canadian International S. at Woodbine Oct. 2015 under Ryan Moore and he made his only start this year a successful one when beating Western Hymn (GB) (High Chaparral {Ire}) in the Listed Huxley S. at Chester in May. Bred by Hascombe and Valiant Studs, Cannock Chase was a 310,000gns yearling when bought at Tattersalls by Charlie Gordon Watson and the stud are also offering breeders an added incentive of a £10,000 bonus to the breeder of any horse from the first crop of Cannock Chase that wins either a Class 1 or Class 2, 3, 4, 5 maiden in England, or either a Class 1 or open maiden in Ireland during the horse's two-year-old racing campaign.
