Sprint Campaign In Mind For Donjuan

Donjuan Triumphant | Scoop Dyga

Donjuan Triumphant (Ire) (Dream Ahead) looked a talented colt when winning the G2 Criterium de Maisons-Laffitte by five lengths last year and the Richard Fahey trained 3-year-old is starting to please connections ahead of a probable sprinting campaign that will hopefully lead to Royal Ascot in June. “He didn't winter brilliantly and he has taken a while to come to himself,” reported Tim Palin, spokesman for owners Middleham Park Racing. “We don't see him as a Guineas horse as we don't think he stays a mile. His most likely starting point is probably the G2 Sandy Lane S. at Haydock which will act as a prep race for the G1 Commonwealth Cup, which is the big plan for him in the first half of the season,” added Palin.
