SOLOW (GB) (g, 6, Singspiel {Ire}–High Maintenance {Fr} {GSP-Fr, $115,823}, by Highest Honor {Fr}, on course for a bid to win back-to-back renewals of the G1 Dubai Turf, was sent off at 3-10 and sauntered along with one behind early. Trying for a gap on the inside of his chief rival Vadamos (Fr) (Monsun {Ger}) in early stretch, the homebred was switched around when the door was shut and coasted alongside with a furlong remaining. Pushed out with hands and heels to assert, the grey was geared down to register a facile 1 1/2-length verdict over that runner and secure a 10th straight win in the process. “We saw what we expected to and, as he was not very lucky early in the straight, it was remarkable that he came back to win like that,” a delighted Freddy Head said. “He is certainly as good as last year and maybe a little bit better. He is in a class of his own and is ready go to Dubai now. He won't do much before then, as this will have done him a lot of good and set him up perfectly.” Solow has a 3-year-old half-sister in training named High Quality (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) and a yearling filly by Shamardal already named Lunch Lady (GB). Lifetime Record: Hwt. European Older Horse at 7-9 1/2f, Hwt. Older Horse-Fr & UAE at 7-9 1/2f, MG1SW-Eng, G1SW-Fr & UAE, 18 starts, 13 wins, 3 places, €5,197,922. Video, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton
