G1 Golden Slipper favourite She Will Reign (Aus) (Manhattan Rain {Aus}) pleased trainer Gary Portelli in a Tuesday work at Warwick Farm. The unbeaten filly is being aimed at a seasonal return in Saturday's G2 Silver Slipper S. at Rosehill.
“Her work was fantastic this morning,” Portelli told Racing.com. “It was an unbelievable work to watch. She's the real deal. It was just a nice controlled work over 1000 metres with [stablemate] Straturbo and it was just a really good work. It was building work from the 1000 and she kept getting stronger and through the line she was doing her best work so it was a perfect work.”
She Will Reign is the A$1.90 favourite for the Silver Slipper ahead of 'TDN Rising Star' and Breeders' Plate winner Khan (Aus) (Exceed and Excel {Aus}). She Will Reign won on debut by 8 1/4 lengths at Kembla Grange on Dec. 10 before adding Randwick's Inglis Nursery by four lengths seven days later. She Will Reign was a A$20,000 purchase from last year's Inglis Classic sale.
