Short, but Sweet Field for Precisionist

Speedway Stable's Collected (City Zip) headlines a small, but strong field of five in Saturday's GIII Precisionist S. at Santa Anita. Winner of the GIII Sham S. and GIII Lexington S. last term, the chestnut ended his sophomore season early after a disappointing 10th in the GI Preakness S. last May. He made a successful return to the races off an 11-month layoff April 1, scoring a decisive victory in the Santana Mile and followed that with another solid success in the GII Californian S. Apr. 22. Baffert also saddles Cat Burglar (Unbridled's Song), who kicked off 2017 with an optional claimer success sprinting over this strip Mar. 31.

Doug O'Neill also saddles a pair of runners in Reddam Racing's Donworth (Tiznow) and Zedan Racing Stables' Argentinian import Keane (Arg) (Equal Stripes {{Arg}). “TDN Rising Star” Donworth has been winless in three starts since being transferred to O'Neill after Reddam purchased him at the 2015 Keeneland November sale. The dark bay has been on the shelf for 14 months since finishing third in last term's GII Charles Town Classic. Victor of six of nine starts in Argentina, most recently capturing the G1 Mio Dardo Rocha Internacional in November, Keane receives Lasix for the first time in this U.S. debut.

Rounding out the quintet is Hronis Racing's GSW Accelerate (Lookin at Lucky). The chestnut was third in the GII San Antonio S. Feb. 4 and finished second to “TDN Rising Star” and subsequent graded stakes winner Danzing Candy (Twirling Candy) in a local optional claimer last time May 5.
