Shalaa Retires To Bouquetot

Shalaa | Racing Post

Dual Group 1-winning juvenile Shalaa (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}–Ghurra, by War Chant) retires to Haras de Bouquetot in France for 2017, Al Shaqab Racing announced on Twitter on Thursday. A 100,000gns foal turned 170,000gns yearling, Shalaa was trained by John Gosden and carried the Al Shaqab silks to victories in the 2015 G1 Prix Morny and G1 Middle Park S., as well as the G2 July S. and G2 Richmond S. in a juvenile campaign where he lost just once in six outings. Injury kept Shalaa off the track much of this year, but he returned with a win in the G3 Bengough S. at Ascot Oct. 1 before finishing 10th in the G1 British Champions Sprint two weeks later.

A stud fee will be announced at a later date.
