As the second starter for his freshman sire (by Nyquist), Induction garnered the honor of becoming his first winner at Colonial Downs.
Sent off as a 9-2 shot to track from fifth as Yalta (War of Will) stepped out to set the fractions in :24.29 and a half in :49.42, the Pin Oak Stud homebred was in no rush from his position in the early stages but did start to improve his placing around the turn. Rallying from four wide as the pacesetter tried to mount a response, Induction kicked away from that rival to score by two lengths.
The victor is the first to the races for Right to Freedom, who hails from the female family of GI Kentucky Oaks victress Summerly (Summer Squall). The dam has a yearling full-sister to Induction in the wings as well as a 2026 Street Sense colt. She came up barren on her 2027 trip back to the latter sire.
Summerly, twice elite-level placed in her career as well, went on in her broodmare career to produce SP Kentucky Reign (Distorted Humor) and Brazilian Group-placed Allez Marie. The latter has since produced five stakes horses, most recently GIII Monmouth Oaks victress Running Away (Gun Runner).
