Unhappy with the outside draw, owner/trainer Dallas Stewart revealed that the unbeaten Louisiana-bred Saint's Fan (Tale of Ekati) would be scratched from Saturday's GIII LeComte S. at Fair Grounds.
“They got the race at Delta on Feb. 11 if we get out of quarantine,” Stewart said referring to the $100,000 Louisiana Premier Night Prince S. for Saint's Fan's next start. “If not, the [GII] Risen Star [at Fair Grounds Feb. 25].”
Saint's Fan, a very impressive debut winner at Churchill Nov. 4, was last seen capturing the six-furlong Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile S. at Fair Grounds Dec. 10. Drawn widest in post 12, he was listed at 5-1 on the LeComte morning line.
