Ringside With Ross Doyle

Ross Doyle | Alayna Cullen

1) What is your one essential to get you through the busy sales season?

It's a serious business but the laughter and a bit of craic with everybody at the sales is very important to get you through and obviously plenty of coffee.

2) Which stallion's first yearlings impressed you most this year?

It's probably unfair to pick one but if I had to it would be Australia (GB). Very good-looking, great balance and they seem to have great minds.

3) What horse springs to mind as your favourite purchase?

We purchased a bay colt by Wootton Bassett (GB)–Frida La Blonde (Fr) (Elusive City) (lot 322) for €100,000 at Arqana in August. He was a monster.

4) Finally, if you had to select one other agent to buy a horse for you, who would it be and why?

I will get the sack if I don't say my father Peter but seriously it would be him.
