Resolutions: Geoffrey Russell

At New Year's time, we thought it appropriate to ask our racing community for their resolutions. Each participant was asked for one racing-related resolution, and one non-racing one. Up today: Geoffrey Russell.

We leave 2017 with a marketplace that is strong and consistent in all facets and at all levels. My wish for 2018 is that we see a continuation of this trend and an expectation of more growth spurred on by the new tax bill. I look forward to 2018 with the hope that the foundations our industry has in place can continue to work together to increase exposure to racing and sales by embracing and developing technologies that appeal to the younger generations. I also look forward to seeing US-breds continue to win at the highest level worldwide and that a US-bred and Keeneland sales graduate wins the Epsom Derby.

On a personal level, to buy a new set of golf clubs–my current ones are too old to play with-and get back on the golf course. But as Oscar Wilde once said, “Good resolutions are simply checks that men draw on a bank where they have no account.” And that might happen to this one!

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and successful 2018.
