Profitable Out Again Soon

Clive Cox is hopeful of getting Profitable (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) back on course soon after his late withdrawal from the G3 Palace House S. at Newmarket on Saturday. Winner of the G1 King's Stand S. at Royal Ascot last year Profitable was due to carry the Godolphin silks on Saturday for the first time until a minor setback put paid to that plan. “He just had a small stone bruise that we were concerned about and with the drying ground, it was not a difficult decision to make,” explained Cox.

“He will be sound in a few days, but he just needs a couple of days to get over it.” The 5-year-old colt will no doubt have Royal Ascot on his agenda again but Cox is keen to get some match practice into Profitable within the next week. “We have got him entered in France on Saturday over five furlongs at Deauville in the [G3] Prix de Saint-Georges. We'll see how he is over the next few days and if he is well enough he could go there, or the [G2] Temple Stakes [at Haydock] is the other option,” he added.
