Good Friends Stable's MGISW Private Zone (Macho Uno) will make his belated seasonal bow in Belmont's GII True North S. June 10. The 6-year-old breezed six furlongs in 1:13.40 in Elmont Friday morning in preparation for that return.
“He worked pretty fast, I [was glad] to see him work like he did,” trainer Brian Lynch said.
Private Zone captured the GII Churchill Downs S., GIII Belmont Sprint Championship and GI Forego S. for previous trainer Jorge Navarro last term. A gutsy second to champion Runhappy (Super Saver) in his final start for that conditioner in the GI Breeders' Cup Sprint Oct. 31 at Keeneland, the bay was last seen finishing fifth in Aqueduct's GI Cigar Mile H. Nov. 28.
