Ohio Owner/Breeder Judy Klosterman Dies

Judy Klosterman, a prominent Thoroughbred owner and breeder in Ohio, died peacefully at home Oct. 13 due to complications of Parkinson's disease. She was 78. Klosterman is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ken, and children Kimberly Klosterman, Jayme Klosterman and Kenneth “Chip” Klosterman, Jr., and three grandchildren, Katie, Ellen and Olivia.

The family-owned Klosterman Baking Company is one of the largest bakeries in the Midwest, and is in its fourth generation of family stewardship under the guidance of their son Chip and daughter Kim. In 1987, the Klostermans established 235-acre Langsem Farm in Loveland, Ohio and went on to campaign numerous Ohio-bred champions. Klosterman also served as the national director of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders' Association.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in memory of Judy Klosterman to Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement Farms.
