Jimmy Toner unveils Dary Dan Farm Racing's MANITOULIN (Awesome Again), a daughter of champion turf mare Soaring Softly (Kris S.). A millionaire and two-time Grade I winner, Soaring Softly has also produced SW Much Rejoicing (Distorted Humor) and the dam of MSW Spring to the Sky (Langfuhr). This is also the family of GISW Plenty of Grace (Roberto) and MGSWs Diabolical (Artax) and Tricky Creek (Clever Trick). The hot-handed Chad Brown saddles another first timer in Shadwell Stable homebred Shagaf (Bernardini). His SW dam Muhaawara (Unbridled's Song) is a daughter of dual Grade I winner Habibti (Tabasco Cat) and is a half-sister to MGSW millionaire Eldaafer (A.P. Indy). Shagaf also traces his lineage back to GI Kentucky Oaks winner Gal in a Ruckus (Bold Ruckus). Godolphin Racing homebred Party Barn (Bernardini) adds both blinkers and Lasix in this second attempt for Kiaran McLaughlin after finishing fifth on debut over a sloppy track at Belmont Oct. 3. A son of GISW multimillionaire Hystericalady (Distorted Humor), the bay has been working well in the interim, including a best-of-26 half-mile in :48 at Belmont two back Nov. 6. Charles Fipke homebredTale of Mist (Tale of Ekati) also adds Lasix for this second start for trainer Barclay Tagg. The half-brother to MGISW Tonalist (Tapit) tired to 11th behind a dominant performance from Matt King Coal (Cool Coal Man) in his Oct. 29 career bow at Belmont. TJCIS PPs.

Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra (Medaglia d'Oro)'s breeder Dolphus Morrison gave Heaven Trees Farm's Dede McGehee that champion's dam Lotta Kim (Roar) when he dispersed his horses in 2012. (Click here for full story). McGehee named the first foal she bred from the mare DOLPHUS (Lookin at Lucky) in his honor and the colt debuts here for trainer Joe Sharp. The chestnut's pedigree has gotten some major updates this yearthanks to the offspring of his half-sister Rachel Alexandra, herself a two-time Eclipse winner and five-time Grade I winner. Her first foal, 3-year-old Jess's Dream (Curlin), was tabbed a “TDN Rising Star” after a spectacular debut at Saratoga Aug. 24. The 2-year-old Rachel's Valentina (Bernardini) also earned Rising Star status after an impressive debut upstate and followed suit with a victory in the GI Spinaway S. and runner-up effort in the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Oct. 31. Brereton and Ned Jones's Mason County (Haynesfield) also boasts a pretty bigpedigree. Making his career bow for Larry Jones here, the dark bay is out of a half-sister to two-time champion and recent GI Pacific Classic heroine Beholder (Henny Hughes) and GISW sire Into Mischief (Harlan's Holiday). A half-brother to SW & GSP Harry's Holiday (Harlan's Holiday), Mason County gains the services of red hot pilot Florent Geroux here. Jones also sends out Dreamchaser Thorobreds' All Out of Aces (Proud Citizen), who is a half-brother to GISW Hard Aces (Hard Spun). The dark bay finished fifth on debut over a muddy track at Keeneland Oct. 3 and has been working well since, including a best-of-28 four furlongs in :48 two back here Nov. 10. TJCIS PPs.
