Next Step For Morgan

Saint-Cloud stages pattern-race action on Monday, with Godolphin's Morgan Le Faye (GB) (Shamardal) bidding to continue a perfect sequence so far in 2019 in the G2 Prix Corrida. After Andre Fabre opted to shorten up last year's G1 Prix du Cadran and G1 Prix Royal-Oak third, the 5-year-old has proven a revelation. Taking the Listed Prix Zarkava over this 10 1/2-furlong trip at ParisLongchamp on Apr. 7, she was even more impressive back there three weeks later for the G3 Prix Allez France at a mile and a quarter.

The operation's Lisa-Jane Graffard commented, “Morgan Le Faye has been in great form this year. This is a Group 2 contest, so she will have to step up again but we see no reason why she shouldn't give another good account of herself.”

In opposition is George Strawbridge's G2 Prix du Conseil de Paris winner Listen In (Ire) (Sea the Stars {Ire}) and the Devin family's G3 La Coupe de Maisons-Laffitte scorer and GI E. P. Taylor S. runner-up Golden Legend (Fr) (Doctor Dino {Fr}), but both are making their seasonal debuts with the former also carrying a penalty.

Earlier on the card, G1 Prix de Diane prospectors take part in the G3 Prix Cleopatre over the same trip and His Highness The Aga Khan's Shamiyla (Fr) (Kingman {GB}) is a half-sister to the 2014 winner of this Shamkala (Fr) (Pivotal {GB}), who scored on debut over a mile here at the start of the month. An intriguing rival is Alain Jathiere's homebred Volskha (Fr) (Le Havre {Ire}), who comes here on the back of a win in Toulouse's Listed Prix Caravelle on Apr. 23.
