Moore Facing A Month Out

Ryan Moore | Racing Post

Jockey Ryan Moore, who injured his neck in a starting gate accident at Newmarket on Friday, could be out “more than a month,” according to his father, trainer Gary Moore.

Moore walked away from the incident after his mount, Newton's Law (Ire) (Lawman {Fr}), reared up and trapped himself in the gate, but the rider was taken to hospital with neck pains.

He's had his scan, he's just waiting for someone to read him the results,” said Gary Moore. “He's fairly comfortable, but he will be out for a while. He will be out for more than a month.”

Moore is the number one stable jockey to the Coolmore partners and trainer Aidan O'Brien. O'Brien told Channel 4 Racing yesterday, “It was an unfortunate thing; I think he's going to know in the next couple of days how long it is going be. Obviously it is going to take time like every injury, but please God he'll be perfect.”
