The Irish jump jockeys Donagh Meyler and Rachael Blackmore enjoyed a dominant victory over their Australian counterparts in the annual Australian Vs Irish Jump Jockey's challenge that culminated at Morphettville in Adelaide on Saturday. Meyler's three winners from just the three rides saw the Irish pair finish up on 55 points, 20 clear of the Aussies on what was the 31st consecutive year that an Irish contingent took part in the challenge in Australia. Donagh Meyler was obviously thrilled how the brief stint went for him and having steered home this third winner, the David Hayes trained Dane Hussler (Aus) (Husson), he commented, “I got a good early feel on both of them, they jumped well and stuck their necks out. But they race a bit differently over here, that's for sure.” Rachael Blackmore, Ireland's reigning champion conditional rider was out of luck with her mounts.
