Max Gets Familiar With Flemington

Leading Irish G1 Melbourne Cup contender Max Dynamite (Fr) (Great Journey {Jpn}) had his first taste of Flemington Racecourse on Tuesday morning ahead of his participation in the big race next Tuesday Nov. 3. David Casey accompanied the Willie Mullins trained 5-year-old on the journey from the Werribee quarantine center and the pair got familiar with the starting stalls and exit tunnel before completing a light workout on the racecourse itself. Speaking to Racing And Sports Casey, a recently retired Irish jump jockey, commented, “He's been here a month now so it was just to give him a day away, get him in the horse box, get his blood up a bit and have a look at the track. He did a bit of work on the track, a warm-up lap then had a canter around, quickening up the straight. It was just to get a feel of the place and he really came alive when he got there as he's become a bit lazy here in Werribee.” Max Dynamite was last seen in Europe winning the G2 Lonsdale Cup at York by an impressive four lengths under Frankie Dettori and is set to carry eight stone nine pounds in the showcase race next Tuesday.
