Keen Ice and Neolithic Prep for Pegasus

Todd Pletcher's $12-million GI Pegasus World Cup-bound duo of Keen Ice (Curlin) and Neolithic (Harlan's Holiday), worked in company Saturday morning at Palm Beach Downs, covering five panels in a co-bullet 1:00.40 (1/10) (video).

“I thought they both worked super,” Pletcher said. “They seem to be doing well and everything is on schedule. I think we will keep them on a Saturday work schedule as long as the weather looks good.”

Javier Castellano, who was aboard GIII Harlan's Holiday S. runner-up Keen Ice for Saturday's work, will ride him in the Pegasus. John Velazquez has the mount on Neolithic, who captured a Hallandale allowance last time out Dec. 14.

Stronach Stables' GI Woodward S. winner Shaman Ghost (Ghostzapper) worked towards the Pegasus Friday, breezing six furlongs in 1:14.65 at Palm Meadows (video).

“He worked nice by himself and finished willingly,” trainer Jimmy Jerkens said. “He galloped out nice and strong in 1:27 2/5.”

Jerkens is in search of a rider for his charge, who is a regular mount of Castellano.
