Juddmonte Announces 2017 Mating Plans

The European Juddmonte broodmare band will visit a total of 35 different stallions in 2017, the stud announced Wednesday. Juddmonte always strongly supports its stallion roster at Banstead Manor Stud and unbeaten champion Frankel (GB) (Galileo {Ire}), who is off to a great start at stud and has his first 3-year-olds in 2017, will receive the likes of Group 1 winner African Rose (GB) (Observatory)–the dam of his Group 3 winner Fair Eva (GB); Arabesque (GB) (Zafonic), the dam of Group 2 winner and G1 Middle Park S. third-place finisher Showcasing (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}); Group 1 winners Heat Haze (GB) (Green Desert) and Emollient (Empire Maker); and Group 1 producers Argumentative (GB) (Observatory), Binche (Woodman) and Winter Sunrise (GB) (Pivotal {GB})

Some of the mares to visit Juddmonte veteran Dansili (GB) number Soviet Moon (Ire) (Sadler's Wells), the dam of G1 Derby hero Workforce (GB) (King's Best); and Photographic (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}), a daughter of G1 Cheveley Park S. heroine Prophecy (Ire) (Warning {GB}). Oasis Dream (GB) (Green Desert) will see the returning Milford Sound (GB) (Barathea {Ire}), herself a half-sister to G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Rail Link (GB) (Dansili {GB}); and the four-time Grade I winner Ventura (Chester House), among others.

Young sire Bated Breath (GB) (Dansili {GB}) has been matched with Bouvardia (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}), a sister to Showcasing (GB); as well as Tarocchi (Affirmed), the dam of GISW Price Tag (GB) (Dansili {GB}). Juddmonte's champion miler Kingman (GB) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}), whose oldest foals are yearlings of 2017, sees MGSW Big Break (GB) (Dansili {GB}), a full-sister to MGSW Famous Name (GB); and Exemplify (GB) (Dansili {GB}), a half-sister to MG1SW Special Duty (GB) (Hennessy), to name a few. New Bay (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) will cover blue-hen mare Hasili (Ire) (Kahyasi {GB})'s daughter Very Good News (Empire Maker) and the black-type performer Midweek (GB) (Motivator {GB}).

Juddmonte will also send several mares to Coolmore giant Galileo (Ire) (Sadler's Wells): Kind (Ire) (Danehill), the dam of the aforementioned Frankel and her daughter Joyeuse (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}), as well as MG1SW Midday (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}); and fellow Breeders' Cup heroine Banks Hill (GB) (Danehill), who is already responsible for Group 1 winner Romantica (GB) to Galileo. Galileo's half-brother Sea the Stars (Ire) will be covering the Breeders' Cup winner Intercontinental (GB) (Danehill) and Midday's dam Midsummer (GB) (Kingmambo). Group 1 winners Zenda (Zamindar), Timepiece (GB) (Zamindar) and Romantica will all go to Dubawi (Ire).
