The annual Jockeys and Jeans annual stallion season auction, which benefits the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund, begins Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 9:00 a.m. EST and continues through Friday, Jan. 31 at 6:00 p.m. EST. A preview of seasons will be available Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020 at www.starquine.com. All proceeds go to benefit the PDJF. The charity provides a monthly stipend of $1,000 to approximately 60 former jockeys who suffered catastrophic career ending injuries.

“Our sale is the only one in the entire racing industry whose entire proceeds goes to help humans; namely those Jockeys who have given so much of their lives beneath the horses we all know and love,” said Jockeys and Jeans President, Barry Pearl. “These brave men and women are no longer riding horses but wheelchairs.”

Since its inception in 2014, over $1.4 million has been raised to assist injured jockeys. The seventh annual Jockeys and Jeans is set for Churchill Downs late next spring.

“We realize there are more requests from worthwhile charities in racing for stallion seasons than can possibly be filled, so we thank all those who donate to ours,” said Pearl. “For them as well as the season buyers, be assured you are making a huge difference in the lives of racing's fallen brothers and sisters.”
