Candy Ride (Arg)

7th-KEE, $62K, Alw, NW1X, 2yo, 1 1/16m, 4:24 p.m. EDT

Winchell Thoroughbreds homebred TOTAL TAP (Candy Ride {Arg}) dominated his career debut in a one-mile turf event at Churchill Downs Sept. 23, and is set to try the main track for this first appearance against winners. Fresh off a 7 1/4-length victory over subsequent Keeneland maiden winner Sea Rover (English Channel), the Steve Asmussen trainee has posted three workouts on dirt in Louisville in the interim. The dark bay is the first foal from fellow Winchell colorbearer Easy Tap (Tapit), who has since produced a colt by Scat Daddy in 2015 and full-brother to Total Tap earlier this year. Total Tap will be joined in the starting gate by 'TDN Rising Star' and GII Best Pal S. third Thirstforlife (Stay Thirsty), who looks to get back on track following a fifth-place effort in Churchill's GIII Iroquois S. Sept. 17. TJCIS PPs
