Highclere Unveils Olympian Syndicates

(l to r) Sir Steve Redgrave, Victoria Pendleton, Harry Herbert and Denise Lewis

Highclere Thoroughbred Racing is set to launch new syndicates named for great Olympians past and present, including Sir Steve Redgrave, Sir Mark Todd, Dame Kelly Holmes, David Weir, Jessica Ennis-Hill, Denise Lewis, Edwin Moses and Victoria Pendleton.

“I am delighted to present our new Olympian syndicates and must thank all of these great athletes for allowing us to use their names,” said Highclere Chairman Harry Herbert. “I am excited that most have expressed their keen interest in following the horses in their respective syndicates, which I am sure will lead to healthy competition between them. I hope their names will inspire some equally talented racehorses.”

Denise Lewis said, “I couldn't have asked for two better trainers with Andrew Balding and John Gosden in my syndicate. As a Highclere owner and a huge racing fan I can say that there is no bigger thrill than watching your horse out on the racecourse.”

Victoria Pendleton, now a jumps jockey, added, “Horse racing and riding has become a real passion of mine so I am delighted to have a new Highclere syndicate in my name. I can't wait to see how the two horses progress over the next few years.”
