Heaven Sent

Seventh Heaven | Racing Post

The Curragh's supporting card on Sunday holds up well and features one of the leading older fillies in training in Seventh Heaven (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) as she makes her eagerly-awaited return in the G2 Moyglare “Jewels” Blandford S. Injured after her five-length success in Newmarket's G2 Jockey Club S. May 6, last year's G1 Irish Oaks and G1 Yorkshire Oaks heroine is passed over by Ryan Moore in favour of this year's G1 Pretty Polly S. and G1 Irish Oaks runner-up and Aug. 27 G3 Snow Fairy Fillies S. winner Rain Goddess (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}). Favoured over them both is Sunderland Holdings's Sea of Grace (Ire) (Born To Sea {Ire}), who was runner-up in the G1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches at Deauville May 13 and fourth in the G1 Falmouth S. at Newmarket July 14 before putting the useful Lincoln Rocks (GB) (Rock of Gibraltar {Ire}) in Haydock's Listed Dick Hern S. over a mile Aug. 12.

Trainer William Haggas is looking forward to stepping her up to this trip. “It will be a strong race, but I'm really looking forward to running her, especially over a mile and a quarter,” he said. “She's in great form, I really couldn't have her better and I think she might find improvement, which she might need, over this trip. The one thing she has done is being on it early in her races so we've spent a lot of time trying to get her to relax, which we think we've managed, and soft ground is very important to her. If she relaxes and breathes properly, she'll have a good kick. She's going to run here and hopefully the Prix de l'Opera, and then we'll see about something else.”

Last year's winner Shamreen (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}) has only run twice subsequently and one of those resulted in an authoritative success in the G3 Royal Whip S. over this track and trip last time Aug. 20.
