Harzand Headed To The Arc

Harzand | Racing Post

Dual Derby winner Harzand (Ire) (Sea The Stars {Ire}), who could manage only eighth after being struck into during the running of the G1 Qipco Irish Champion S. last weekend, has been given the go-ahead by trainer Dermot Weld to contest the Oct. 2 G1 Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. Weld had reported the Aga Khan homebred to be lame after the Irish Champion, but told the Daily Mirror on Wednesday the colt is making “good progress.”

“We will have him back on Monday–that's the plan,” Weld said. “He doesn't need antibiotics and his leg will heal in the next couple of days. What happened was a total accident–a horse behind just ran into the tail end of him. But he's a brave horse, he's making good progress and he'll be back for the Arc.”
