Harlan's Holiday Firster Romps at Gulfstream

Harlan's Holiday | WinStar Farm

7th-GP, $37,200, Msw, 4-23, 3yo/up, 7f, 1:24.22, ft.
+EEL (c, 3, Harlan's Holiday–Involved, by Speightstown) broke sharply as the 4-5 choice and made the lead in the first few strides under Edgard Zayas, opening clear off the chute and onto the backstretch. Setting a measured tempo of :23.51 and :46.97, the $475,000 KEESEP yearling purchase was challenged by eventual runner-up Blind Ruckus (Da Stoops) on the latter half of the bend, but shook clear of that one soon after turning into the stretch and kicked away strongly in the final furlong to romp by 11 1/2 lengths. The winner was the most expensive yearling by Harlan's Holiday to sell in 2014. His dam is a half to MGSW Skip to the Stone (Skip Trial) and has a 2-year-old colt by Scat Daddy and a yearling filly by Majestic Warrior. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $25,200.
