Goffs Land Rover Sale Posts Gains

Etat Des Flos | Goffs

The Goffs Land Rover Sale benefitted from a slimmed down catalogue of 434 lots offered versus 534 lots last year and posted gains in almost every category at the close of the two-day stand Wednesday. A total of 380 lots (88%) sold for a gross of €12,270,500, compared to 449 (84%) in 2016. The average (€32,291; +23%) and median (€28,000; +40%) also both made double-digit improvements on the 2016 figures of €26,271 and €20,000, respectively.

Etat Des Flos (Fr) (Balko {Fr}) (lot 302), consigned by Sluggara Farm, topped the overall proceedings, selling for €175,000 on a bid from Aiden Murphy. A full-brother to the 2017 Goffs Land Rover Bumper victor Vision Des Flos (Fr), the 3-year-old's dam is a half-sister to SW and GSP Salut Flo (Fr) (Saint des Saints {Fr}), as well as G1SP Balko des Flos (Fr) (Balko {Fr}).

“Tuesday's Part 1 average and median both rose to record levels, up by over a quarter and a third respectively, all backed up by a simply amazing clearance rate of 93%,” said Goffs Chief Executive Henry Beeby. “Part 2 trade Wednesday has also proved extremely strong with records again. That impression is totally endorsed by the clearance rate of 88% over the two days which was driven by a near frenzied trade from start to finish and at all levels, not least at the top with 10 lots breaking the six-figure barrier, another record for the Land Rover Sale. As ever we are extremely grateful to our vendors who provide us with catalogues of rising quality each year.”
