Further Declaration

Declarationofpeace | Racing Post

After a satisfactory return to action in the G1 Phoenix S. a week ago, 'TDN Rising Star' Declarationofpeace (War Front) is back in Kildare on Sunday for the G3 Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club Curragh S. Now sporting a tongue-tie and blinkers, the imposing bay, who was disappointing when last of 22 in Royal Ascot's Listed Windsor Castle S. on June 20, was reappearing after a subsequent absence when seventh of eight in the Phoenix and can be expected to be sharper this time.

There are some smart fillies in attendance and one unexposed one who is held in high regard by trainer Andrew Slattery in Emadee (Ire) (Zebedee {GB}), who beat the subsequent winner Brick By Brick (Ire) (Big Bad Bob {Ire}) in a five-furlong maiden on her only start at Naas on July 26. “It's a big step up, but I'd be expecting a very good run from her,” he said. “She's improved a lot from the run in Naas. She worked last Tuesday and looked the part, so we're looking forward to seeing what she can do. The question mark would be the ground. It was nearly good-to-firm when she won in Naas and there's rain around, but Declan McDonogh feels she'll like a bit of cut in the ground. If she handles the ground, I think the rest of them will have had enough of her by the time they've finished with her.”
