Full Field Lines Up for Chilukki

Farrell | Coady

A full field of 14 ladies look set to go in today's Chilukki S. at Churchill Downs. Among the main contenders is George Hall's Money'soncharlotte (Mizzen Mast), who kicked off the season with four consecutive victories including the 8 1/2-furlong GIII Molly Pitcher S. at Monmouth July 30 followed by the nine-panel Lady Jacqueline S. at Thistledown Aug. 19. Showing good early speed in her latest start in the Sept. 30 GI Beldame S., she found winner Elate (Medaglia d'Oro) too powerful that day and had to settle for second, beaten 8 1/4 lengths. Holding the class card in the field is Coffee Pot Stables' Farrell (Malibu Moon). Winner of the GII Golden Rod S. at two, she returned to capture a trio of stakes wins this season, including the Feb. 25 GII Rachel Alexandra and GII Fair Grounds Oaks Apr. 1. Well backed in the May 5 GI Kentucky Oaks, the homebred tired badly to finish 14th before adding another subpar effort in her most recent start in the seven-furlong Dogwood S. over the Louisville oval Sept. 23. Regular pilot Channing Hill gets back aboard. John Gunther's Tiger Moth (Street Sense) captured a pair of stakes along the midwest circuit last summer, chief among them the GIII Groupie Doll S. at Ellis Aug. 13. A credible third while going 8 ½ furlongs at Churchill in the GIII Locust Grove S. Sept. 16, she never got into the mix of things and finished eighth while facing top company in a sloppy renewal of the GI Spinster S. at Keeneland Oct. 8.
