Flying The Ballydoyle Flag

Leopardstown debut winner Landshark | Racing Post

Ballydoyle are keyed up for another potentially profitable Sunday at The Curragh, with the G3 Plusvital Round Tower S. looking at the mercy of U S Navy Flag (War Front) if he is able to reproduce recent form. Second in Newmarket's G2 July S. on July 13, he was fourth behind Sioux Nation (Scat Daddy) a month later in the G1 Phoenix S. over this course and distance and those efforts put him clear of his rivals here. As ever, there are improvers lurking and one of the most intriguing is E5 Racing Thoroughbreds's Landshark (GB) (Bated Breath {GB}), who bids to build on his promising debut win over this trip at Leopardstown on Aug. 10. Of the fillies, Qatar Racing's Ball Girl (Ire) (Tagula {Ire}) has to step up markedly on her maiden success over an extended seven furlongs at Roscommon on Aug. 8, but is worthy of respect from the Ger Lyons stable.
