First Runner For Lavinia Fabre

Lavinia Fabre (brown coat) with Olya | Scoop Dyga

Thursday marks a new chapter in the story of the Fabre family, with Andre's daughter Lavinia saddling her first runner at Saint-Cloud having taken out her training licence earlier this year. The 36-year-old saddles Olya (Persian King) in the card's opening Prix de Versailles handicap, with her father in opposition with Timea (New Bay) in the colours of Lavinia's mother Elisabeth.

“The plan is to form an association with my father, which should happen by the end of the year,” she told the OTI Gazette. “It shouldn't change much of the day-to-day, as we've been working together for a few years now. It's an amazing opportunity for me to start my training career in the best possible conditions and, hopefully, will lighten the workload for my parents.”
