Florida Work for Mohaymen

Shadwell Stable's Mohaymen (Tapit), scheduled to make his sophomore debut in the Jan. 30 GIII Holy Bull S., turned in his first breeze since shipping to South Florida Thursday, working a half-mile at Palm Meadows in :49 3/5.

“He looked great,” trainer Kiaran McLaughlin reported. “He was great and happy. He might skip a work, but he's going to probably work weekly and point for the race at the end of the month.”

A $2.2-million Keeneland September yearling, Mohaymen is unbeaten in three starts. After a debut win at Belmont in September, the gray colt won the Nov. 4 GII Nashua S. and Nov. 28 GII Remsen S. Second in both of those outings was Flexibility (Bluegrass Cat), who goes postward in Saturday's GIII Jerome S. at Aqueduct.

“It was time to get working again,” McLaughlin continued. “He's been training but we just took it easy for a few weeks because we had time. He's doing very well. We're real happy with him. He's a nice horse. We're looking forward to the Holy Bull.”
