Expert Eye on Course for Dewhurst

Juddmonte's undefeated Expert Eye (GB) (Acclamation {GB}) is firmly on course for the G1 Darley Dewhurst S. at Newmarket on Saturday week. Sir Michael Stoute's youngster created a huge impression when winning the G2 Vintage S. at Glorious Goodwood by 4 1/2 lengths on Aug. 1. That form could hardly have worked out any better with the fourth, James Garfield (Ire) (Exceed And Excel {Aus}), and fifth, Seahenge (Scat Daddy), subsequently winning the G2 Mill Reef S. and G2 Champagne S., respectively. Stoute had hoped to take G1 2000 Guineas favourite Expert Eye to Ireland for the G1 National S., but he met with a minor setback.

“He's in good form and all roads lead to the Dewhurst,” said Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to owner Khalid Abdullah.

“He's working nicely again and we're back on track with him.

“It would certainly cap a great season were he to win.”
